\730 Million Awarded in Scholarships via the Yangyoung Foundation and the Sudang Foundation
- Scholarships awarded to 90 college students and 93 high school students

On February 19, the Yangyoung Foundation and the Sudang Foundation (Chairman: Sang-ha Kim, Samyang Group Chairman) held the 2014 Scholarship Awards Ceremony at Samyang Group Hall in Yeonji-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
The two foundations awarded a total of \730 million in scholarships to 183 students, including 90 college students from 23 universities and 93 high school students. The recipients received excellent grades and exhibited model behavior, even in difficult circumstances, and were selected to receive scholarships through evaluations and school recommendations.
The Yangyoung Foundation, the first private scholarship foundation in Korea, was established in 1939 by Samyang Group founder Yeon-su Kim. The Sudang Foundation was established in 1968 by Yeon-su Kim and his sons.
So far, the two foundations have awarded scholarships to over 20,000 students and funded over 600 university professors through research grants. Furthermore, the Sudang Award was established to recognize those who have accomplished outstanding achievements in basic sciences, applied sciences, humanities and social sciences. The program awards a total of \300 million in prizes annually in May.
