The top management at Samyang Corporation established Sudang foundation. Initially, the goal was to support the education of Samyang employees' children, but over time the scope of the scholarship program was expanded nationwide. Unlike the Yang Young Foundation, the scholarships offered by the Sudang Foundation are mainly for middle and high school children as well as university students. The Foundation also provides research grants to professors in the natural sciences and helps educational institutions.Moreover, the Sudang Prize was instituted to carry on the spirit of national service and human resources development that characterizes the philosophy of Samyang Founder / Chairman Kim Yeon-su. The Prizes are presented to individuals who have made exemplary contributions in basic sciences, applied sciences and humanities & social sciences categories.
