About Yang Young Foundation

Yang Young foundation provides scholarships to 70-80 students each year. Originally, the goal of the foundation was to cultivate talent in the national sciences, which would play a pivotal role in national industrial development. The nation's best scientific minds were given funds to conduct research, helping to put Korea on the scientific map. In 1962, the eligibility for student aid was expanded beyond the natural sciences to include the humanities. At the same time, funding was provided to professors to assist in their research and the publishing of their research papers. Finally, the financial assistance recipients were expanded to include organizations that promote social projects and academic research.
