“About Me,” a clean beauty cosmetics brand, donated cosmetic products worth KRW 900 million to “Beautiful Store.”
Samyang Corporation (CEO: Song Ja-ryang), a food and chemical affiliate of the Samyang Group, announced on the 20th that its About Me cosmetics donation ceremony took place at the “Geumulko Center” of Beautiful Store located in Yongdap-dong, Seoul.
The cosmetic products donated by About Me will be provided to the socially disadvantaged class, including seniors who live alone and low-income families. Some of the products will be sold at 109 Beautiful Stores nationwide, and all of the profits from sales will be used for the socially disadvantaged class.
An authority of Samyang Corporation’s About Me explained, “About Me has redefined its brand concept as Clean Beauty and is making an effort to fulfill social responsibilities from products to business management, hoping that its donations would help people who are disadvantaged.”
An authority of Beautiful Store said, “Many people are in need of a helping hand due to the prolongation of COVID-19, and we are grateful of businesses that take part in making a world a beautiful place through the value of sharing.”
About Me has re-established its brand philosophy — “refine ingredients found in nature and deliver them to our body” — and launched eco-friendly products and packages. The company is planning to use worry-free ingredients for the skin and undergo skin irritation test on all products. In the long run, About Me is planning to not only remove the harmful ingredients but also seek to obtain vegan certification in an effort to realize the value of clean beauty. Packaging materials for products to be launched in the future will not be bleached. Sugar cane paper and paper certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) will be used and the outer surface will be printed with soy ink to minimize the burden on the environment. Product bottles will be applied with a removable label for easy waste sorting and eco-friendly accessories will be used for sustainability. |
