A nature lovers’ essay and drawing contest was held on April 11 at the Jeonju site of Huvis, sponsored jointly by Samyang Corp., Samyang Kasei, Huvis, and the Environmental Preservation Association. A total of 10,000 elementary and middle school students and their family members were in attendance at the event. The participants competed in two areas of drawing (elementary) and essay writing (middle school) with a theme of “Green world we dream of.” In addition to the competition, there were many more fun events for all like roulette game, Chinese pancake carts using Q-One homemade mix, firefighting safety item exhibition, and face painting event. The roulette game was intended to raise awareness of products and brands of Samyang Group. Contestants were given free gifts if the roulette wheel stops at locations indicating our products (Q-One, Fresh Hwan, Seven Springs, and AboutMe). Then event helpers came out to explain Samyang’s products. The event was a smash hit for the participants. The Chinese pancake free sampling event also drew a host of visitors.

The nature lovers’ essay and drawing contest began in 1996 and has since established as one of the most popular environmental festivals in North Jeolla Province. This is also considered one of the best examples of putting the corporate sector, environmental advocates, and local communities together.

A total of 326 awardees will be selected for the event including awards given by the Minister of Environment, the Administrator of Environment for Saemangeum Reclamation Project, and the President of the Environmental Preservation Association. The winners will be announced on April 30 on the websites of Samyang Corp., Samyang Kasei, and Huvis. The award ceremony will be held on May 14 at the Gaeksa store (Jeonju) of Seven Springs.
