▲ The Sudang Foundation held the 27th Sudang Prize Ceremony at Lotte Hotel in Sogong-dong, Seoul on May 8.
The event commenced with a word of greeting by Chairman Sangha Kim of the Sudang Foundation which was followed by a progress report from the Sudang Prize operation director. After an evaluation report by the judging committee, there was a screening of a video introducing the awardees followed by the awarding of prizes as well as a few words from the awardees. The awards ceremony came to a close with a congratulatory address from President Kim Dong-ki of the National Academy of Sciences, Republic of Korea and was followed by a celebratory dinner.
At the 27th Sudang Prize Ceremony, Professor Choi Ui-ju of Korea University’s College of Life Sciences & Biotechnology was awarded in the category of basic science, Professor Lee Byung-ho of Seoul National University’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the category of applied science and Professor Im Hyeon-jin of Seoul National University’s Department of Sociology in the category of humanities and social science, and each awardee received a cash prize of 100 million won and a medal.
